Püper is built on open data. These are the sources it draws on, and the terms each one is used under.

Restroom data

  • OpenStreetMap

Many of the restrooms shown in Püper were imported from OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database License (ODbL).

Modified by Püper: imported records are not reproduced as published. Some published fields are carried across and others are not; a record within 20 metres of one already listed is discarded rather than added; and Püper adds values of its own — a confidence score, recalculated automatically as reviews and other signals accumulate, and in some cases an inferred access type or restroom category. Those added values are Püper's own and are not attributable to the source.

  • REFUGE Restrooms

Further restrooms come from REFUGE Restrooms, a community project mapping safe restroom access.

City open-data portals

Püper imports public restroom records from municipal open-data portals. Each one is credited below under its own terms.

  • Données ouvertes ParisODbL

Contains information from « Sanisettes à Paris », published by the Ville de Paris on Paris Data under the Open Database License (ODbL). Each Püper record is a snapshot of that dataset taken on the date the record was imported.

Provenance tracking began on 20 August 2026. Records added before that date carry no recorded source and cannot be attributed to a specific one — nothing stored on a record identifies where it came from, and entries duplicated across sources had already been merged. Those records came from the sources listed on this page, which credit them collectively rather than individually; none of the data here originates with Püper.
