1. Who we are
Püper ("we", "us", "our") is a community-driven restroom review platform. We help people find, rate, and share information about publicly accessible restrooms. Our service is operated as a community project.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and the password you choose (stored securely via Supabase Auth — we never see your plaintext password).
Content you submit. Reviews, restroom listings, ratings, tags, and comments you submit are stored and displayed publicly. Your display name (a shortened version of your email) appears alongside your reviews.
Location data. If you choose to use location-based features (finding restrooms near you, calculating distance), your browser may request access to your device's GPS location. This data is used only in your browser to calculate distances and is not sent to our servers.
Usage data. We may collect basic usage information such as pages visited and actions taken, to help us understand how the service is used and improve it.
Cookies and local storage. We use browser local storage to save your favorites, recent searches, session information, and rate-limiting data (to prevent spam). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
3. How we use your information
- To operate and improve the Püper platform
- To display your reviews and restroom submissions to other users
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- To moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service
- To prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent activity
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing without your explicit consent.
4. Data sharing
Supabase. We use Supabase as our database and authentication provider. Your data is stored in Supabase's infrastructure. Please review Supabase's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.
Public content. Reviews and restroom listings you submit are publicly visible. Do not include sensitive personal information in reviews or restroom names.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Püper, our users, or the public.
5. Data retention
We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, though content you submitted (reviews, restroom listings) may remain in an anonymized form to preserve the integrity of the community database.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights or to request account deletion, please contact us at the email below. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children's privacy
Püper is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of Püper after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
